What consultancy is needed? Why companies prefer the service of consultancies when they have all the necessary infrastructure? What is the necessity to hire candidates through consultancies? Thanks,

These are the scenarios when one needs recruitment consultancy.

1. When any Organization needs manpower in bulk in very short time period then they need the services of RPO/Consultancies to fulfill their requirements.

2. Many times when the position is very critical and niche and for that position candidates are not available on portals or social networking sites then organizations need some professional bodies which are expert in Headhunting/referencing/mapping etc to fulfill there requirement in the given time frame.

Thanks

No doubt the hiring the company has all the facilities and the resources. But most of the times, the business requirement will be certain niche skills which are not readily available and are scarce to find.

This is where the role of consultancies come in to play in view of their vast contacts, network and expertise in sourcing such rare skills. Moreover, the HR/Hiring being the key business support function, is required to fill in the position within the required time frame to meet the business requirements.

Hope this clarifies your queries. Do let me know in case you have any additional clarifications.

Thanks, Sridhar

1) Any organization will require outsourcing because if they would have to do hiring on their own, it will involve more amount of time, labor and funds.

2) Consultancy has a wide range of network in all verticals and they know how to use it.

3) It is a mediator between candidates not looking out for a change and companies desperately looking out for an appropriate candidate.

4)They are of utmost importance during the time of salary negotiations.

Thanks very much

There are many reasons why a company would hire consultants:

1. Access to a wider network of candidates

2. Many candidates are more comfortable dealing with intermediary consultants rather than directly with the companies as they perceive they will be more valued this way. Also the candidates would trust the consultants are looking out for their interests

3. Depending on the strength of company employer brand, it may attract better quality candidates through a reputable recruitment consultant than on it's own. The consultant is better able to sell the company to the candidate, leveraging on the trust and reputation it has built over time.

4. The recruitment consultant employees are generally much more commercially motivated than the recruitment staff of the company, which results most times in better quality service and more effective delivery.

5. It is generally more cost-effective to outsource several aspects of the recruitment process to consultants who are able to leverage on economy of scale.

In addition to all of these, here are my takes on the need for a recruitment consultancy.

1) Consultancies help companies in doing their ground work done very efficiently and effectively as they are always connected with a large pool of resources and are specialized in the domain of matching people with the organization's requirement.

2) Consultancies acts as a facilitator between Org's HR & Candidates as both parties open up and share their requirements genuinely with the consultant which in turn help consultants to match the right combo. Salary negotiations becomes very easy by having right consultants in place

3) Organizations mitigate their risks to some extent by using consultants as the candidate has to go through 2 different evaluation process (Informal with Consultants which help them further improve and formal with Orgs.).
