“Start-Up India – Stand-Up India” will make India a Country of “Job Creators” not “Job Seekers”


16th Jan 2016 will definitely be the day which will be marked in the history of Startups in India. It is the biggest initiative taken by the Indian Government to bridge the gap between Startups and the Center.

The Start-up conference is going to be a promising meet in which more than 15 departments of Government of India will sit together with CEOs and founders of top startups (over 1500) from across the country under one roof. The session will be attended by Honorable Prime Minister of India Shri Narendra Modi and Union Minister of Finance & Corporate Affairs, Shri Arun Jaitley on 16th January 2016 at New Delhi.

The Department of Industrial Policy & Promotion (DIPP) is spearheading the “Start- up India” event, which will see a day-long global workshop that will culminate in Modi unveiling the Government’s action plan for this sector.

The day long Global Workshop will be consisting of Interactive talks from speakers like Uber Technologies founder Travis Kalanick, Soft-Bank founder Masayoshi Son and WeWork founder Adam Neumann.

Google will be conducting a session featuring “Live Pitches” being made by early stage startups to potential investors. Considering the importance of the event it will be telecasted live in IITs, IIMs, NITs and central universities over 350 districts in India.

This workshop will also include sessions on the concerns that the startups are currently facing in India like regulatory compliance norms, relaxation of the existing tax laws, access and support to funding and other areas.

A delegation of over 40 top CEOs and founders of startups from Silicon Valley will be attending as special guests for the event and will be taking part of in all interactive sessions.   1. The speaker’s list is impressive but I was really looking forward to meet Vijay of PayTM. I couldn’t crash into him that day but I’ll surely meet him one day. :)
